Yukon Brewing’s latest seasonal is out, and it is a Raspberry Wheat Ale called Razz-a-ma-Tazz. From what the folks at Yukon say, it is not your usual fruity wheat beer. First, they added some toasted wheat to give it more of a Wit character, and they allowed some of the raspberry to ferment, giving the beer a drier, more fruit wine character. Raspberry still comes through in the aroma and flavour, but my guess is that there is enough beer under there to keep it beer-y rather than fruit-y.

No word on whether any of this beer makes its way south of 60. I rather doubt it, actually, as often it sells so crazy fast in Yukon that none gets shipped. But, we will see.

I am also told, but can’t confirm, that Yukon’s very special Birch Beer will arrive in August to Alberta in limited quantities. How limited, I don’t know. Plus the whole thing could be a hoax. You will just have to stay tuned to find out.
