I owe the good folks at Yukon Brewing an apology. Normally I like to be the first guy to report new beer from prairie (and honourary prairie) brewers. However my Halifax sojourn has interfered with that mission. The Yukon guys did email me informing me of two new releases, but I simply didn’t get around to dealing with it in time. And now most of you probably already know that they have released Fightin’ Pike Pilsner and Double Trouble Imperial IPA.

The Pilsner is available in Edmonton at the 109 Street Urban Diner (until it runs out), while the Double Trouble is only available in Whitehorse. One of the significant features of this release is Yukon’s commitment to ship a couple of kegs of their seasonals to Edmonton, which means that finally residents outside Yukon can sample their seasonal offerings.

So, go give the Pilsner a try, and make an effort to not feel too sorry for yourself that you won’t be able to try the Imperial IPA. And feel free to report on your impression of the beer.
