Just a quick reminder that Edmonton’s second monthly cask event is this Thursday (June 24) at the Sugar Bowl at 5:00, This month Alley Kat has done a Steam Beer (which is my recipe, actually). When I last asked they were undecided whether to use the cask of straight Steam, or the cask that was dry-hopped. We will only know on Thursday.
Last month the place was hopping and latecomers were disappointed. The Sugar Bowl has made some adjustments to fix some of the small glitches from last time (pouring the beer with the Beer Engine was quite slow and there were some inconsistencies in how servers handled the priority list). The beer engine, sadly, must go for a more efficient pouring system and a numbered ticket system will be implemented. This should allow things to move more smoothly.
I am looking forward to it, of course. And this month I have two reasons to be excited – cask ale brewed using one of my homebrew recipes…How cool is that?

In answer to your (obviously rhetorical) question – that is, in fact, extremely cool. See you there!

Damnit, why do they keep doing this on Thursday nights? Any other night of the week and I’m there!
