A quick heads up for all you beer watchers in Alberta. In the next week or so, a new Edmonton brewery will officially open. Yellowhead Brewing will open its doors in the coming days (exact details are still TBA) with an open house. Yellowhead will be operating out of the old Maverick Brewing brewhouse on 105 st in downtown Edmonton. While Yellowhead is arising out of the ashes of Maverick, it has a new brewmaster and a new recipe (and, obviously a new name) to give it a freshlease on life. They will be starting with a single beer, a “German-style lager”, I am told by brewmaster Scott Harris. The focus will be on kegs first, with gradual expansion to bottles.
I haven’t gotten a hold of a logo for the brewery yet – so don’t get into your head that they are simply stealing Yellowhead Highway road signs for their product. I needed some kind of image for the post, didn’t I?
I let you know when the official launch occurs.
