My latest Vue Weekly column came out today: a review of Victoria Bitter. This is Australia’s biggest selling beer, but is much less ubiquitous here in Canada. As I mention in the review, there is reason to be hesitant with beer from the land down under, because of the travel it must endure alone. Yet on a flyer I decided to pick up a six pack. Oops.
And, worse yet, I don’t think I can blame it on the plane trip the beer took.
Before you read the article, keep in mind that Australia does have a burgeoning craft beer scene. We just aren’t going to see any of those breweries here. At least not for a while. We get their mass market beer – which I guess suggests I should have known better. Such is the hard life of a beer writer…
Anyway, you can read the review here.

Sarcasm doesn’t communicate well in print. Not sure why you feel the need to insult me because I offered up a negative review of Victoria Bitter. However, you are free to do so.
