So, as I rev back up my involvement in the beer world, I am returning to many of my old activities, such as my CBC Radio column, and finding some new ones to try on.
This continues to evolve but I thought I should put a couple that have been finalized out there for folks who might be interested. For your enjoyment:
Sugar Bowl
My monthly Sugar Bowl tastings are back, but with a twist. I still hang out and informally talk to patrons for two hours, but now instead of serving three samples a various intervals, every new customer will receive one free sample, and for the time I am there a specially curated taster tray will be available at a reasonable cost. Also, where before it was intentionally a “pop-up” event with no promotion, we are now going to try to push it out a bit (hence what I am doing here).
Here are the next few dates (all run from 6 to 8 pm, no entrance fee):
- Tuesday September 17 (tonight!)
- Tuesday October 22
- Tuesday November 19
- Tuesday December 10
The Underground
I used to do monthly education sessions at The Underground downtown. We are shaking that up a little bit. For a while we are going to try doing quarterly beer and food pairing evenings. Longer, more involved, and offering up a nice combination of food courses matched with the appropriate food.
- Oktoberfest with Jason Foster, September 28, 6:00pm. Yes, I am diving into the Oktoberfest thing – four classic German beer paired with hand-crafted German dishes. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased here.
More To Come…
I am still working out details of events with some other great partners. So stay tuned!
